What an incredible day at the 4th Annual International Holiday Bazaar!

This year, we were thrilled to welcome our largest group of vendors yet, with seventeen artisans and organizations sharing their work, culture, and creativity. More than two hundred attendees joined us throughout the afternoon and, together, we raised over $1,300 for Refugee Support Services, supporting families who are building new lives in Charlotte.

Events like the Bazaar reflect the heart of Wedgewood’s mission. We believe community is built through dignity, solidarity, and shared celebration. By uplifting refugee and immigrant artisans, we create spaces where people can tell their stories, sustain their livelihoods, and feel welcomed for who they are. Every purchase, every conversation, and every moment of connection is part of that work.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, shopped, and supported our neighbors.

See you next year!

Each artisan, each handmade item, and each shared conversation reflects our belief that a more just and compassionate Charlotte is built through relationships, mutual support, and collective care.

Rooted in Wedgewood’s commitment to social justice and belonging, the Bazaar creates opportunities for refugee and immigrant artisans to share their cultural traditions, generate income, and build community in a city that is still new to many of them. It is a space where creativity and culture meet compassion, and where neighbors can learn from one another in ways that strengthen the fabric of our shared community.

Recently recognized as "Best Event for a Good Cause" in Queen City Nerve’s 2025 Best in the Nest Awards, and with Wedgewood honored as "Best Church," the Bazaar continues to grow as one of Charlotte’s most meaningful holiday traditions. Every purchase directly supports programs that help families navigate life after resettlement with dignity, stability, and hope.

About the Bazaar

The International Holiday Bazaar is a cherished annual gathering organized by Wedgewood in Charlotte, North Carolina. What began as a small community event has grown into a meaningful space where refugee, immigrant, and local artisans come together to share creativity, culture, and connection. It is an afternoon where global traditions meet community care, and where every table reflects both individual artistry and collective resilience.

From the beginning, the Bazaar has been shaped by Wedgewood’s commitment to justice, welcome, and belonging. It creates space for refugee and immigrant artisans to share their stories through handmade work and to generate income that supports their families. At the same time, it invites Charlotte residents to meet their neighbors, learn from them, and take home something created with intention and cultural pride.

Each year, proceeds support Refugee Support Services, whose work helps families navigate life after resettlement with stability, dignity, and hope. The Bazaar is one way our community stands in solidarity with newcomers, celebrating the richness they bring to Charlotte and affirming that we are stronger when we care for one another.

A Tradition Rooted in Justice and Community

Since its first year, the International Holiday Bazaar has embodied Wedgewood’s mission to foster justice, inclusion, and belonging through shared action. What began as a small local gathering has grown into one of Wedgewood’s most beloved annual traditions, offering a space where faith meets community and compassion.

  • 2022 – The Beginning
The first Bazaar was held at The Enclave at Wedgewood as part of Wedgewood’s outreach to support refugee and immigrant artisans. The event featured bilingual English and Spanish materials and donated proceeds to Refugee Support Services.

  • 2023 – Growth and Partnership
The Bazaar moved to the Refugee Support Services campus, deepening collaboration with RSS. Refugee vendors kept 100% of their profits, while non-refugee vendors contributed a portion of sales back to RSS.

  • 2024 – Celebration and Connection
The third annual event invited participants to “celebrate the holiday season together while making a difference,” bringing together diverse artisans, volunteers, and visitors for an afternoon of community and compassion.

  • 2025 – The Fourth Annual Bazaar
Now in its fourth year, the Bazaar continues to be free and open to the public. It celebrates the creativity of refugee and immigrant artisans and strengthens the partnership between Wedgewood and Refugee Support Services.

Our Impact

Over four years, the International Holiday Bazaar has:

  • Supported dozens of refugee and immigrant artisans through equitable, no-cost participation.

  • Increased local awareness of Refugee Support Services and its mission.

  • Brought together residents, faith communities, and advocates in shared celebration.

  • Amplified Wedgewood’s ongoing commitment to social justice and inclusion.

A Celebration of Global Connection
The International Holiday Bazaar is more than a market. It’s a reflection of Wedgewood’s belief that faith and justice are lived out through community action. Every purchase, conversation, and connection made at the Bazaar helps make Charlotte a more welcoming place for all.
