MIOS - Moving In One Spirit

MIOS is for any spiritual-seeking individuals interested in sharing and learning from others because we are all connected in SPIRIT.  We will discuss everything and anything connected with: new thought consciousness, new age thinking, spirituality, heart-mind-body-spirit topics, and more! Here at Wedgewood, we believe in creating a safe place where everyone is welcomed and celebrated on their own unique spiritual journies. Our next meeting is Sunday, September 16th at 6:30pm. We meet every two weeks. Feel free to reach out to the MIOS moderator Dorothy Smart if you have any questions. The Zoom link can be found HERE.

Community Food Pantry

We have a weekly socially distanced, drive-through food pantry that feeds over 150 families each week in partnership with the Hearts Beat As One Foundation. Our food pantry was originally on the Wedgewood campus but moved to our new location at HB1 (3520 Dewitt Lane, Charlotte, NC 28217) to better serve the Charlotte community in a more central location. Volunteers are welcome to come starting at 3:30pm on Wednesdays to bag groceries and prepare the food pantry for drive-through service from 5:30-7:00pm. Masks are required to volunteer. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and accompanied by an adult if they are under the age of 18. Please contact our community outreach coordinator Liz Schob for more information.

Sandwich Program

We are partnering with Charlotte Atheists & Agnostics in their monthly distribution of supplies to the homeless. We are providing sandwiches. PB&J and other sandwiches are acceptable, just please label your sandwiches and place them in individually sealed sandwich bags. Sandwiches can be dropped off at Public Storage, 1001 North Tryon promptly at 9AM on the first Saturday, but make sure to let our community outreach coordinator know so she can give you the contact number of the CA&A Saturday coordinator. You can contact the church to arrange for sandwiches to be picked up or for more information. Distribution is the first Saturday of each month.
