Sunday Service: Irina Hamrick from Charlotte for Ukraine

Irina Hamrick was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. At age 31, seeking new opportunities, she moved to the United States in 1998 and later became a naturalized citizen. For more than 30 years in the US, she has worked in different American companies as an office administrator. She also spent 5 years as a part-time teacher at the cultural center Yunost, supporting Russian-speaking children.

In February 2022, Irina became a member of the nonprofit organization Charlotte for Ukraine. Over the past 3.5 years of war, she has participated in fundraisers, organized rallies, and helped Ukrainian refugees with their needs. This volunteer work has become the most important part of her life.

During this Sunday’s service, Irina will share updates on the current situation in Ukraine and the challenges that refugees experience here in the United States.
